Bullying

We have taken a strong stance against bullying at Avalon Middle School. It is important to remember that bullying can be more than just physical aggression or threats. It can involve the "silent treatment," excluding others from activities, and starting rumors, among other things. These behaviors are especially cruel because middle school is a time when students are increasingly aware of the importance of peer groups and physical development.
Our staff works hard to help all students feel wanted and special, but we need your help. If you, your student, or a friend is being bullied, let us know. Don't be afraid of telling someone your problem. When you come forward you are helping yourself as well as others.
