We have completed writing testing for 6th grade and 7th grade.  Thank you for sending your student to school during state assessments.  8th grade writing will be Monday.

We are proud to announce that Adelei Elzweig will have her artwork displayed at the Dali Museum in St. Pete, Florida.  Her art, titled, “Bone, Apple, Teeth” will be displayed this summer.

The 2025 Take Stock in Education Scholarship Program has announced it recipients and we are pleased that Sims Middle School has 4 students who will be receiving scholarships upon successful completion of high school:  Bentley Shore, Brennan Smith, Joselyn Cuevas, and Marissa Battles.

  • Controlled Open Enrollment transfer window opens.  If you know someone who is planning to transfer to Sims Middle School, applications are available on the district website.

Other Information

  • April 17th is the last day to earn AR points for your Patriot Card.  Remember the top 50 card holders will attend the field trip in May. 

  • The Controlled Open Enrollment transfer period for Santa Rosa County will begin on April 11th and go through May 27.  Beginning April 11th you can access the Transfer Form, the 25-26 School Choice Plan and the 25-26 Controlled Open Enrollment Capacity Chart on our school district’s website under school choice. Directions for completing the transfer form and submitting it can also be found on the district’s website. Parents without internet can pick up a paper copy from the front office.  If you have questions regarding the transfer process, please contact your student’s Grade Level Director at 850 983-5150.

  • 6th Grade parents – This is a reminder that to start school in the 7th grade, students must be up to date on their immunizations.  For most of students, that is the Tdap shot and should be recorded on the Florida 680 form. We will not be hosting a Tdap clinic here at school, but you can contact the health department or your child’s pediatrician to schedule a shot. 

  • Talent Show auditions will be Monday, April 14. If you would like to be in the talent show, please see the front office for more information.  The Talent Show will be after school on April 25.  Tickets will be $5.

  • Mug Shots will host a Sims Spirit Night on Friday, April 25 from 5-9 p.m.  Plan to take your family to dinner and mention Sims Middle School.  The school will receive a donation for a portion of each sale.
