Hello, Avalon Middle families. Welcome to 2026.
This Friday, January 16th, there will be an A & A/B Honor Roll celebration for all students performing at those levels during the second quarter. Your child's report card will post this Friday in FOCUS.
Tomorrow, we will have a full scale lockdown drill toward the end of the school day. Please be aware this is simply a monthly scheduled drill.
Track season is set to kick off January 23rd. This first meeting will be an informational meeting for the students and will begin at 7:45 am in the multipurpose room. Students can be dropped off at the car rider pickup/drop off ramp. Students will need a permission slip to participate in track. Those students who signed a permission slip for Cross Country do NOT need to have another permission slip signed—they are cleared to compete. Any study who did NOT participate in Cross Country will need to pick up a permission slip from the folder hanging outside Coach Richardson's door in Blue Hall, room 613. Practice days/times will be every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7:45 am. Please note that we will still hold practice on inclement days, as there are activities we can do in the multipurpose room. Practice is on unless we cancel through the Rooms app. If you have not installed Rooms, or do not regularly monitor it, please consider checking it out, as we post updates to the Track Season in our Track and Cross Country Room. Coach Huntington will be updating the Room with any new parents as the season gets underway. There will be two organized meets this season: The Patriot Invitational is set for Friday, March 27th, while the North End Invitational is set for Wednesday, April 1st. Both meets are at Pace High School. More information will follow on these meets, as we will only be able to take our athletes with the fastest qualifying times to these meets and a special release/permission slip will be required for those athletes. Lastly, students will be provided jerseys to wear at meets and appropriate track attire is required for practices: PE clothes (no jeans) with running shoes (no crocs/house shoes). Please direct questions to Coach Huntington (lhuntington@santarosa.k12.fl.us) or Coach Richardson (richardsont@santarosa.k12.fl.us).
Thank you for your time, and Go KNIGHTS!

Good evening, Avalon Families.
This is a reminder of our upcoming semester exams. I also wish to remind everyone that Friday, December 19th, is the ONLY early release day (@ 1:00). I have included a copy of the district calendar, which was updated in August.
*First and Second period exams are scheduled for Wednesday (12/17) @ 9:15 & 2:14.
*Third and Fourth Period Exams are Thursday (12/18) @ 9:15 & 2:14.
*Fifth and Sixth Period Exams are Friday (12/19) @ 9:15 & 10:30.
I hope this clears any confusion.
We wish our students the very best on their exams. We also wish all Avalon Families a Merry Christmas and Safe & Happy New Year.
Thank you and Go KINGHTS!

The first semester of school is rapidly winding down. I have sent many letters home with children who's grades need attention. If you have received one of these letters, please sign and return it with your child. Check your child's grades. They should all have homework at this time because they all have semester exams in the near future. Please help us insure your child's success.
